Liquidity conditions remained constructive into mid-May as policy expectations softened and stablecoin supply continued to expand. We discuss what we are watching across positioning, leadership, and on-chain activity.
Liquidity conditions remained constructive into mid-May as policy expectations softened and aggregate stablecoin supply continued to expand. Spot volumes across major venues normalized after the April pullback, and breadth indicators across the top-fifty liquid digital assets improved from the levels observed in late Q1.
Asset leadership remained concentrated. Bitcoin and Ether continued to capture the majority of incremental net flows, while a narrow set of large-cap layer-ones participated in the rebound. Beneath the surface, on-chain activity has not yet broadened in a way that would historically signal a durable regime change — an observation we revisit in the regime section below.
Our positioning posture coming into May was defensive-to-neutral. As measured risk metrics improved, the strategy moved incrementally toward neutral, with position sizing determined by the relevant mandate and risk parameters. Where applicable, momentum and trend signals supported a higher allocation to large-cap liquid assets versus the broader universe.
Looking ahead, we are monitoring three threads: the trajectory of global liquidity and the macro impulse, the durability of on-chain flows and stablecoin issuance, and the regulatory calendar that may meaningfully affect market structure in the second half of the year.
