Digital Assets, Liquidity, and the Current Macro Backdrop

Macro & Liquidity · · CKC.Fund

Global liquidity is a meaningful — though not exclusive — driver of digital asset returns. We outline how we incorporate liquidity signals into our framework without over-fitting to any single regime.

Global liquidity has been an important driver of liquid digital asset returns through multiple cycles. The relationship is neither linear nor exclusive — other factors including positioning, leadership, and on-chain flows matter — but liquidity remains a useful starting point for evaluating the macro backdrop.

Our framework incorporates aggregate liquidity measures alongside short-rate expectations and credit conditions. The objective is not to predict liquidity; it is to size positions and adjust risk parameters in light of the prevailing condition.

We are cautious about over-fitting to any single regime. Conditions that prevailed in 2017, 2021, or 2024 are unlikely to repeat exactly. The framework is designed to remain robust across regimes rather than optimized to any one of them.
